Lavalle Schulz's Obituary
The funeral for LaValle Schulz, Wishek, ND will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Luke Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.
LaValle son of Abel and Christine (Retzlaff) Schulz was born December 1, 1934 on a farm at Kintyre, ND. He grew up in the Kintyre/Braddock area and attended school there. LaValle served in the military from 1957 to 1959. He returned home and married Delaine Jacobs on June 28, 1959 at Kintyre, ND. The two began their life in Braddock and raised their six children in Kintyre, Hazelton and Wishek, ND. LaValle worked at Cenex in Hazelton until he hurt his back in 1979. They moved to Wishek in 1981. LaValle was a hard worker and enjoyed the outdoors. He had a special love and talent for fixing most anything up to working order and to like-new appearance. He crafted many buildings with his own hands. LaValle collected 57 Chevy vehicles and die-cast models. LaValle loved his family dearly, having morning coffee at Cenex and our Lord and Savior above all.
LaValle died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Wishek Community Hospital under the care of Prairieview Hospice with his wife and family at his side. He was 76 years old.
LaValle is survived by his wife, Delaine, Wishek, ND; son, Rick Schulz, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Brinda (Dale) Kleppen, Watford City, ND; daughter, Deb Santanen, Watford City, ND; daughter, Sheila (Dwight) Goebel, Wishek, ND; son, Darcey (Patricia) Schulz, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Stacey (Todd) Buchholz, Lehr, ND; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way; three brothers, Robert (Helen) Schulz, Napoleon, ND; Darrel (Mary) Schulz, Aberdeen, SD and David (Diane) Schulz, Bismarck, ND; one sister, Donna Hamel, Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Christine Schulz, two brothers, Melvin and Ronnie and a brother-in-law, Donald Hamel.
