The funeral service for Larry Ruff, Wishek, North Dakota will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery, Fredonia, ND.

Larry Ruff son of Edward and Pauline (Erbele) Ruff was born February 7, 1939 at the family farm rural Fredonia, ND. He grew up and attended rural school in the Fredonia area. He moved to Fargo, ND where he drove truck. Larry was united in marriage to Sharon Hochhalter January 15, 1961 at Wishek, ND. They made their home on the Ruff farm near Fredonia, ND where they farmed. They moved to Oakes, ND in 1964 to 1969 where he worked for Visto Implement as a mechanic until returning to the farm near Fredonia, ND where he had a mechanic shop and farmed. Larry and Sharon moved into Wishek in 1998 when he retired and started his second career. Larry was a member of the Sunnyland Notes and played and sang at many events in Wishek and surrounding communities. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND, Wishek Antique Car Club, where he enjoyed showing off the families 1967 VW Beatle. Larry also enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Larry died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek, ND. He was 76 years old.

Larry is survived by, two sons, Keith (Shelley) Ruff, Monticello, MN, Doug (Jocelyn) Ruff, Wishek, ND; Daughter-in-law, Melissa Ruff, Loveland, CO, Carrie Nitschke, Jamestown, ND, special friend Marlys Wanner, Wishek, ND; 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Angela, Brandon, Casey, Samantha, Devon, Alex, Tamika, 5 great grandchildren, one brother, Darrel (Etala) Ruff, Willmar, MN, three sisters, Idella Wilson, Fargo, ND Merrlyn Meland, Fargo, ND and Carol (Roger) Azzam, SC.
