Landina (Sayler) Meidinger was born June 8, 1930 to Edward J & Christina (Weisser) Sayler on the family farm 16 miles southwest of Wishek. She attended rural country school until 8 th grade. She was united in marriage to Wilbert Meidinger on November 1, 1949 at St Andrews Lutheran Parsonage in Zeeland, ND. They recently celebrated their 69 years of marriage with family. In 1951, they purchased the Adam Just farm, 21 miles SW of Wishek where they raised their children. Landina liked to keep busy, loved the outdoors and working alongside her husband on the farm. She was a hard-working farmer's wife; butchering chickens, milking cows, working cattle, painting buildings and then back inside to cook a delicious German meal. They retired and moved to Wishek in 1998. Landina took so much pride in her new home. She loved the convenience of living across from the grocery store, hosting card parties, walking around town and in recent years joined bone builders to keep herself active. She was in the care of her daughter Connie in Fargo, ND beginning September 2018 until she met our Lord peacefully on Christmas morning. She was 88 years old.
Landina was a humble, kind hearted and generous lady. She loved caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she could. Her great grandchildren called her "Grandma Great" which was very fitting. Her hobbies included sewing jean blankets, baby blankets, quilting, cross stitching and gifting these items to family and friends. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo, watching game shows and doing puzzles. Landina was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed. Her family will cherish all the wonderful memories especially the family gatherings for holidays.
Landina is survived by her husband Wilbert, four children and their spouses, Gene (Phyllis) Meidinger Wishek, ND, Connie (Merrill) Piepkorn, Fargo, ND Diane (Dennis) Glas, Wishek, ND, Tommy (Maggie) Meidinger, Rock Springs, WY; grandchildren, Lori (Harlan) Dallman, Leslie (Jammy) Ryckman, Linsey (John) Bauer, Denielle Glas, Max (Käri) Piepkorn, Paige Miller, Braedon Meidinger, Addison Meidinger and 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Marlys) Sayler, Herman (Alvina) Sayler, Albert (Betty) Sayler and Victor (Deanne) Sayler; sisters, Edna Wiest and Christine Witt; sisters-in-law, Lillian Sayler, Ella Mae Sayler and Irene Sayler; and brother-in-law, Leo Hauck.
