Kenneth Wayne Wanner, 67, of Wishek, ND, passed away July 25, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm of Friday, August 1, 2025, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. A livestream of Kenneth's funeral service will be available on the St. Luke Wishek YouTube page.

Kenneth was born August 22, 1957, in Linton, ND. Ken graduated from Wishek Public School in 1975 and went on to work as a truck driver, welder and mechanic before becoming an LPN. He worked at the Wishek Home for the Aged for many years until health conditions forced him to quit working.

He was married to Doreen Bachmeier in 1981, and they had 4 children before separating. His home was always Wishek, but he left briefly for a job in Jamestown and to pursue degrees in mechanics and nursing at NDSCS in Wahpeton.

Ken enjoyed working as a nurse because he enjoyed helping others. He was also very passionate about his country and working on the farm. He kept himself busy working outside in his garden, tinkering in the shop, helping neighbors, working on cars and fishing. He loved watching wildlife around the farmyard, conversing with friends, target practice, listening to music and spending time with family. Everyone looked forward to his pickles and pickled eggs at family gatherings.

He is survived by his children, Jessica (Russell) Buck, Manvel; Philip, Phoenix, AZ; Beth (Shane Trudo), Rapid City, SD; and Daniel (Anessa Bailey), Devils Lake; four grandchildren, Keifer Wanner, Caden, Adaline and Sylvie Buck; his mother, Shirley (Lawrence) Raile; five sisters-Wanda Wanner, Lucinda (Mike) Kershaw, Vanessa Wanner, Renee Scott and Theresa (Dave) Rath and one brother, Jeff (Tammy) Wanner; one honorary sister, Pavina Fuang-arom, as well as many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert; sister, Veronica; and his grandparents, Philip and Olga Goebel and Philip and Emma Wanner.
