Julianna "Julia" Kiefer, 91, Linton, ND passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, at the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Cemetery. A Livestream of Julia's Funeral Service will be available on the Dahlstrom Funeral Service Facebook page.
Julia was born July 25, 1929 on a farm east of Linton in the St Michael's area to Michael SR. and Rosa (Miller) Jacob. She attended country school until the 8 th grade and went on to graduate from Linton High School in 1949.
Julia married Joseph Kiefer on June 8, 1954 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. They resided on a farm north of Hague, ND where they raised their family.
Joseph passed away in 1979 and Julia continued to be on the farm until moving to Linton in 1987 where she lived until entering the Strasburg Nursing Home in 2011.
Julia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing bingo, raising a big garden, canning, baking and cooking big meals for friends and family. She was a member of Marionettes Homemakers Club, St. Anthony's Christian Mothers and St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Julia is survived by her children, Leo Kiefer, Hague, Lillian (Mike) Kunz, Linton, Tom (Diane) Kiefer, Strasburg, Roger Kiefer, Linton, Lorraine Kiefer, Bismarck, Marietta (Ron) Dietz, Linton, Joe (Louann) Kiefer, Linton, Clarice (Vince) Gauer, Chandler AZ; daughter-in-law, Terri Kiefer, Mandan; grandchildren, Julie (Dustin) Bentz, Michael Kunz, Tommy (Dez) Kiefer, Josh (Tia) Kiefer, Brian Kiefer, Alicia (Kyle) Lukenbach, Amanda (Jake) Thomsen, Amy Moser, Austin Moser; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom Jacob, Bismarck, Frank (Helen) Jacob, Linton, Mike (Sally) Jacob, Linton; sister, Rose (Francis) Weisbeck, Herreid, SD; sister-in-law, Angeline Jacob, Linton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son Darrel Kiefer; brother, Valentine Jacob; sisters, Maggie (Tony) Weisbeck, Theresia Jacob, AnnaMary (Andrew) Werner; and sister-in-law, Esther Jacob
