Joseph A Wald son of Anton C and Dorothea (Haegele) Wald was born August 30, 1923 at Hague, ND. He grew up and attended country school in Glendale Township. Joe married Pauline Berger on June 23, 1952 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at Mott, ND. They lived and farmed 10 ½ miles NE of Napoleon until moving into town in 1985. Joe served on the Supervisor Board of Glendale Township for many years. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. In February 2008 Joe entered the Napoleon Care Center.

Joe died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Napoleon Care Center. He was 86 years old.

Joe is survived by his wife Pauline of 57 years, Napoleon, ND; six sons, Patrick (Delilah) Wald, Clinton (Ann) Wald, Peter Wald, all of Bismarck, ND; Tony (Patricia) Wald, Mandan, ND; Dennis (Clare) Wald, Aberdeen, SD; Monsignor Jeffrey Wald, Fargo, ND; three daughters, Virginia (Joseph) Zubrod, Valley City, ND; Bertha (Lee) Blaschke, Lisbon, ND; Dorothy (Geoffrey) Lauinger, Jamestown, ND; two brothers, Leo (Rosemary) Wald, Napoleon, ND; Conrad (Patricia) Wald, Deerbrook, WI; five sisters, Mary Fettig, Napoleon, ND; Idora (Leo) Schmidt, Hazelton, ND; Cyrella (John) Engelhart, Zeeland, ND; Veronica Henley, Tappen, ND; Barbara Schmultz, Bismarck, ND and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Michael, a daughter, Barbara Ann, parents, Anton and Dorothea and one brother, Louis. Visit
