The funeral for Joe Wald, Wishek, North Dakota will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10:30 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 1:00 to 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Burial will be a St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Joseph M. Wald son of Moritz and Christine (Miller) Wald was born January 12, 1931 in rural McIntosh County. He grew up on the family farm. For many years Joe lived with his brother Kasmier and Ann Wald. He moved to Wishek, ND where he purchased a bar called "Little Joe's Lounge". After he sold the bar he became janitor at the Wishek Public School for 10 years. For many years Joe played drums for Victor Wald. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Joe was a member of the Wishek Eagles, Wishek Saddle Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Wishek, ND.


Joe died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek, ND. He was 80 years old.

Joe is survived by three sisters–in-law, Ann Wald, Wishek, ND; Benadina Wald, Linton, ND; Mary Wald, Mandan, ND; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and seven brothers.
