JoAnne Glatt, 78, of Napoleon, ND, passed away April 4, 2022 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Private family services will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon.

JoAnne was born in Bismarck, ND on July 31, 1943, the youngest of five children to Philip and Elizabeth (Bosch) Grensteiner. She graduated from Braddock High School in 1961. JoAnne went on to work at the local bakery and Super Valu in Linton, ND. She married Tony R. Glatt on October 20, 1962 at St. Katherine's Catholic Church in Braddock. Following their marriage they resided on the Glatt family farmstead south of Napoleon. During this time she worked at Super Valu and the Family Clothing Store in Napoleon for four years until she took a job as a bank teller at Stock Growers Bank, where she worked for 41 years until retiring. During her time at the bank she met many wonderful people and enjoyed visiting with customers.

JoAnne loved cooking, baking, going for a Sunday drive, playing cards, especially pinochle, and a game of five crowns with her children and grandchildren. Whenever possible Grandma Jo enjoyed following her grandkids activities. She was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and liked watching NCAA basketball.

JoAnne was a wonderful hostess. Whether you were hungry or not, you were always offered food when you showed up at her home and there was never an option to refuse it. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and one of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her children, the family farm and her Catholic faith was very precious to her.

JoAnne was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Alter Society.

JoAnne is survived by, her  husband of 59 years, Tony R. Glatt, Napoleon; children, Serena (Brent) Ruff, Bismarck, Jaycen (Melissa) Glatt, Napoleon and Amy (Chad) Heer, Douglas, ND; grandchildren, Brayden and Braxten Ruff, McKenzie and Jaxcen Glatt, and Kylee, Aden and Alex Heer; sister-in-law, Lorraine Grensteiner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Andy (Mary) Grensteiner, George Grensteiner and Henry (Bernice) Grensteiner; sisters, Theresa (Leonard) Leier and Alice Grensteiner.
