The funeral for Jeff Dewald, Napoleon, ND will be Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.

Jeff Dewald was born July 12, 1960 to Emil and Diana (Mertz) Dewald. He grew up on a farm 14 ½ miles NE of Napoleon, ND. In High School Jeff was active in FFA, wrestling and football. Jeff graduated from Napoleon High School in 1978. He joined the National Guard in November of 1978, where he was a cook and learned his love for cooking. Jeff was honorably discharged in 1984. He returned to the family farm in the spring of 1979. He then attended NDSSS in 1980 for Ag Equipment Maintenance. Jeff bought his milk cows and farmed with his Dad. In 1982 he was certified and farmed organically for 26 years. Jeff married Janet (Gross) May 25, 1985. Jeff was President of International OCIA for two years and was on numerous organic boards which allowed him to travel internationally. In 1997 he helped out at Larry's Plumbing and Heating where he worked until starting his own business, Dewald's Heating and Repair in 2006, which he operated until 2014 when he became ill with esophageal cancer. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, visiting and helping out his customers.

Jeff died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family. He was 54 years old.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Janet, Napoleon, ND; his children, Justin Dewald (girl friend Kristina Mikkelson), Napoleon, ND, Jordan Dewald (girl friend Brianna Moser), Napoleon, ND, Jayden Dewald, Napoleon, ND and Jacey Dewald, Napoleon, ND; three granddaughters, Riley, Brynlee and Skyler Dewald; two brothers, Keith (Sheila) Dewald, Napoleon, ND and Darwin (Debra) Dewald, Bismarck, ND.
