Janice Marquart Spotts formerly of Napoleon ND died on Good Friday April 2, 2021 in Portland, OR.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on June 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM, followed by the interment at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Janice Ann Marquart daughter of George and Elizabeth (Kuhn) Marquart was born March 23, 1937 in Napoleon, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended school. Janice graduated from Napoleon High School in 1954 and would go on to attend nursing school, becoming a registered nurse. She married Duane Spotts in 1957 with whom she had one daughter, Kimberlee Ann, before moving to Portland, OR in 1959.

She retired from nursing at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital after 30 years in 1992. After retirement Janice opened a gift shop in downtown Portland, which she ran for nearly 20 years.

In her free time Janice enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, gardening, and above all else spending time with her family. She looked forward to the Alumni in Napoleon every year, most of all "polka-ing" the night away.

She is survived by her daughter; Kim (Jon), and her two grandchildren, whom she adored, Jimmy Bishop, Wilsonville, OR, and Emily Bishop, San Diego, CA.
