Janet F. Hauck, 97, of Wishek, ND, died September 30, 2025, at the Wishek Living Center. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Feist Funeral Home, Wishek.

Janet was born on a farm near Wishek on January 20, 1928, to John Bechtle and Lydia Wenzel Bechtle. She grew up and graduated from High School in 1945, lived briefly in Minneapolis and Chicago before returning to Wishek.  She attended the Ellendale Normal School and became a teacher in rural schools in Logan County.

She loved gardening, reading and her church, St. Luke Lutheran in Wishek.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends over coffee every morning.

Janet is survived by two children, Bruce (Darlene) Hauck and Carol Woodruff, three grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Woodruff, John Woodruff, and Brian Hauck; and three great grandchildren, Maddox Hauck and Josephine and David Driedger; sister, Monies Haas; sister-in-law, Sharyn Hauck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Hauck; her parents, John and Lydia Bechtle, and her stepmother Ida Bechtle; two brothers, Oscar and Earl Bechtle; one sister, Jo Harder; and son-in-law, David Woodruff.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Wishek Living Center for the great care she received during her stay there.
