The memorial service for James Olig, Napoleon, ND will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND. There will be a prayer service Thursday at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.

James A. Olig, son of Aloysius J. and Caroline (Retzlaff) Olig was born September 21, 1934 at Napoleon, ND. He attended local schools and graduated from Napoleon High school in 1952. After attending NDSU for one year, Jim worked at the Logan County ASC office. In 1957 he enrolled at VCSU and graduated in 1960 with a BS degree in education. From 1960-1965, Jim taught English and German and was the librarian at Wishek, ND High School. Jim returned to Napoleon in 1965 and was an instructor and librarian at NHS until he retired in 1994. Jim was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where he served as organist and CCD instructor for several years.

Jim died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. Alexis Medical Center at Bismarck, ND. He was 75 years old.

Jim is survived by one sister-in-law, Gloria Olig, Fargo, ND; six nephews, two nieces, 13 great-nieces and nephews and three great- great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret (infant) and Lorraine Silbernagel, one brother Herman and one brother-in-law, John Silbernagel, two nephews, Stafford and Kevin Olig.
