James Harrison, 74, of Napoleon, ND, died April 11, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon.

Jim was born February 22, 1949 in Bismarck, ND to Gail and Neoma (Steinhaus) Harrison. He grew up in Napoleon, graduating from Napoleon High School. Jim attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, receiving degrees in diesel and auto mechanics. While attending college he met the love of his life Debra Anderson and they were married November 20, 1971 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Together they settled in Napoleon where Jim farmed and was a self-employed mechanic. He also drove the transit bus for South Central Transit in his later years.

Jim was an excellent machinist and had a passion for gunsmithing.  Throughout the years, he built many miniature steam engines and rifles for his own use and also for other friends to enjoy. He frequently attended and showcased his miniature steam engines in many threshing shows. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking and most of all spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife Debra Harrison, Napoleon; four daughters, Sandra (Aaron) Hagel, Rebecca (Scott) Adams, Gale Marie Harrison (fiance Randy Keller) and Kelly Werner (fiancé Dusty Paulson); grandchildren, Cesley Guillemette, Kaitlyn Harter, Adrian Harrison, Marissa Werner, Madison Werner and Jeffrey French.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
