Jaford Burgad, 87, of Napoleon, ND, passed away March 1, 2024, in the Wishek Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be on Friday, March 8th, from 5-7 PM with a rosary/vigil at 7:00 PM at Feist Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon. Jaford John Burgad, born on August 5, 1936, in Peter Siding, ND to John and Rosa (Draeger) Burgad. He was raised on the family farm where he attended country school and graduated from Napoleon High School. Jaford married RoseMary Silbernagel on September 13, 1958 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland, ND. Together they lived on the Burgad family farm until 1970 when they relocated to a farm southeast of Napoleon, where they currently resided. He will be fondly remembered for his love of hunting, farming, and dedication to his family.

His approach to life was to work hard and play hard. He cherished his career working on the farm, stating that being a farmer was his lifelong dream and passion. He treasured all things he could watch grow, and his hard work and commitment to agriculture were evident to all who knew him. Always with a twinkle in his eye, he made those around him laugh with a tease or a joke. His zest for life was infectious and he enjoyed making memories by traveling with his family. He will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful soul with a positive outlook on life, always accepting of others. He was a beacon of what it means to be a great human being to the many lives he touched. May he be at peace with God, knowing his memory will be carried by all who love him.

Jaford is survived by his loving wife, RoseMary, his children: Jackie (Ron) Isaak, Deb Burgad, Jan (Ross) Haugeberg, Jaford Dean (Laurie Carey) Burgad, Ronda Burgad, his grandchildren: Lisa (Mike) VanHorn, Camie (Rob) Nagle, Joshua (Brianne) Jacob, Jaford Connor Burgad, Jessica DeCoteau, and his great-grandchildren: Dade DeCoteau, Kaden Zelmer, Michael DeCoteau, Rhett Jacob, and Millie Nagle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Burgad, his brother, Rodney Burgad, and his sister, Sharon Burgad.
