The funeral for Isabella A. Schmidt, Wishek, ND will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday for 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a pray service at 5:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Kintyre, ND.

Isabella A. Bitz daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Voller) Bitz was born June 13, 1925 at Napoleon, ND. She grew up and attended school in Napoleon, graduating from Napoleon High School. Isabella was united in marriage to John A. Schmidt on July 2, 1945 at Napoleon, ND. They farmed southwest of Napoleon and north of Burnstad, ND until 1953 when they moved into Burnstad to operate a bar. In 1968 they moved to Napoleon where they both worked for other establishments. In 1974 they moved to Wishek where they resided until John passed away on November 6, 1977. They were members of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon until moving to Wishek when they became members to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.


Isabella died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at The Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek, ND. She was 85 years old.

Isabella is survived by one son John A. (Lynn) Schmidt Jr., Chicago, IL; three daughters, Gloria (Jim) McKinley, Wishek, ND, Mary Ann Feist, Wishek, ND, Carol M. Rost, Drayton, ND; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, two brothers, John (Sally) Bitz, Bismarck, ND, Al Bitz, Mandan, ND, one sister, Alvina Kluth, Tappen, ND. Isabella was preceded in death by her husband, John, son-in-law Frank Feist, parents, three brothers, Adam, Joe, Leo and three sisters, Rose, Margie, Victoria.
