Irene Sayler, 86, of Wishek, ND, passed away February 10, 2020 at Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
Irene was born on August 19, 1933 to Henry and Emelia (Gall) Mueller on the family farm. She was the youngest of eight children and was raised and attended country school in the Burnstad area. She married Jacob Sayler on April 2, 1955 in Madison, SD, by her brother Rev. Fred Mueller. They made their home in Wishek their entire life. Irene was a stay at home mom raising their three boys while her husband Jacob operated Sayler Standard Service and the Wishek Laundromat for many years.
Irene enjoyed sewing and embroidering as well as gardening and doing word search puzzles and spending time with her siblings. She always enjoyed babysitting for people when called upon. She always had a big smile when her grandchildren and her great grandchildren came to visit.
Irene is survived by her three sons, Jerome (Doreen) Sayler, Wishek, Clyde Sayler Silverdale, WA and Don Sayler(Lisa Harter), Bismarck; grandchildren, Shelly (Travis) Glaesman, Dale (Katie) Sayler; step-grandchildren, Leslie (Nick) Marx, Joshua Lang (Donna Sullivan), Matt Lang, Jessica (Russell) Buck, Philip Wanner (Kristen Klassen), Beth Wanner (Shane Trudo), Daniel Wanner (Anessa Bailey), Heather Lane, Michael (Karista) Kaseman and David Kaseman; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hulda (Glen) Chambers, Aitkin, MN; and one brother, Arnold Mueller, Topeka, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
