The funeral for Ida Irion, Fredonia, ND will be Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Assembly of God Church, Kulm, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND. Burial will be at the Berlin Baptist Church Cemetery rural Fredonia, ND.

Ida Dollinger, daughter of Gottlieb and Emma (Blumhardt) Dollinger was born September 27, 1925 at Venturia, ND. Ida accepted Christ as her Savior in 1934, was baptized and became a member of the Venturia Baptist Church. In 1938, her family moved to a farm south of Fredonia, ND. She became a faithful member of the Berlin Baptist Church and married Elledhor Irion there on October 14, 1945. She became an active member teaching Sunday school and serving in the church Mission Circle. She also loved gospel music and sang in both a quartet and trio for many years. Elledhor and Ida farmed side by side and later raised registered Polled Hereford cattle until 1987 when Darcy, their son, took over the farm. Ida served as a director of the ND Poll-ettes. Ida loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing and entertaining after church on Sundays. She played an active role in the Lehr School band mothers.


Ida died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek, ND. She was 85 years old.

Ida is survived by two sons, Gary (Leona) Irion, Moorhead, MN; Darcy (Lisa) Irion, Fredonia, ND; one daughter, Delilah (Lonnie) Bender, Lehr, ND; one daughter-in-law, Carol Irion, Mina, SD; 12 grandchildren and by spring 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elledhor; son, Arlyn; her parents, Gottlieb and Emma; sister, Alma and infant brother, Sonny.
