Hilmer Baier, 85, of Kulm, ND, died February 3, 2023, at his home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND.

Hilmer Clayton Baier was born February 14, 1937 in Sheridan County, ND to Christ and Martha (Wolf) Baier. He attended Grandville Township School. Hilmer enlisted in the US Army and served for two years until being honorably discharged. He married Sharon Werth on November 25, 1960. Together they lived in various places including West Fargo and California. In 1973 they settled on a farm southwest of Kulm where Hilmer farmed and worked as a truck driver for many years. In 2009 Hilmer retired and continued to live on the farm until his passing.

Hilmer enjoyed living life on the farm and loved spending time with his family and friends. While driving truck, he often enjoyed stopping at truck stops to visit with numerous people and also loved going to the local café for coffee with his friends.

Hilmer is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Lona, LaDonna (Randy), LaRhonda (Andy) and LaVora (Lee); grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Dallas, Colton, Destiney and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Austin, Colt and Braxton; sister, Bonnie (Les); two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, RaeLeen; and sisters, Betty and Elaine.
