The funeral for Hilma Kauk, Napoleon, ND will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Napoleon at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 3 p.m.
Hilma Denning, daughter of, Jacob & Mary (Janke) Denning, was born on February 9, 1930 at Lehr, North Dakota. She was raised in the Fredonia/Lehr area on the family farm. She attended a small country school through the 8th grade. She married Raymond Kauk on March 16, 1948. From this marriage they had two sons, LeRoy & O'Neil. They farmed north of Napoleon for 31 years moving into Napoleon in 1980. Hilma worked at Wentz Cafe and The Downtowner. She was also known for her sewing and baking; especially her Kuchen and caramel rolls. She moved to Vancouver, WA in 2013.
Hilma passed away on April 12, 2017. She was 87 years old.
Hilma is survived by her two sons, LeRoy (Diane) of Vancouver, WA, and O'Neil (Peggy) Baldwin, ND. She also leaves 4 grandchildren, Kim (Robert) Nagel, Baldwin, ND, Stephanie (Sean) Mirkes, Beaverton, OR, Kory (Carol) Kauk, Piedmont, SC, & Michelle Kauk, Vancouver, WA and also 4 great-grandchildren; Trevor Howard, Valerie & Tyler Mirkes and Cordelia Kauk. She leaves behind two brothers; Wilbert & Arlo Denning. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2010, her parents Jacob & Mary Denning, brothers Clarence, Lloyd, Leon, & Elmer Denning.
