Obituary

The funeral for Hertha Wiest, Wishek, ND will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek at 11 am. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
Hertha was born on March 3, 1919 to Jacob and Eva (Wolff) Wiest. She grew up on the family farm in rural McIntosh County, Hertha was baptized April 1, 1919 and confirmed June 18, 1933 at St. Andrews Church. Hertha married Gottlieb Wiest May 24, 1938 at the home of the bride's parents. After their marriage, the couple farmed northwest of Venturia until 1971, when they moved into Wishek.
Hertha died Oct. 25, 2017 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek ND. She was 98 years old.
Surviving Hertha are: her daughter-in-law, Elleen (Brosy) Wiest, Wyndmere, ND, four grandchildren: Lucinda Bardell, Jamestown, ND, LuRhonda (Gary)Tobin, Gettysburg SD, Doran (Cindy) Wiest, Wyndmere, ND, Dorinda (Scott) Doll, Deer Creek, MN; eight great grandchildren, Terrance, Dalton, Devon and Treyton Wiest; Rachel (Kerry) Wager, Rebecca (Michael) Tobin, Dallas & Jace Doll, and two great great grandchildren Jace & Rance Wager; one sister, Werna Deile, Wishek, ND and one brother, Herbert (Arla) Wiest, Wishek, ND, one sister-in-law Alice Wiest, Wishek, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gottlieb; their son, Clarence, great grandson, Trenton Wiest, grandson-in-law, Ray Bardell, three brothers, Ervin, Herman and Julius Wiest, one nephew, Darold Deile and one sister-in-law, Delores (Herman) Wiest.
