The funeral for Harvey Nagel, Lehr, ND will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church at Lehr, ND. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND.  Burial will be at the Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr, ND.

Harvey Nagel, son of Theodore and Viola (Kautz) Nagel was born December 26, 1927 on the family farm at Lehr, ND. He attended rural schools and graduated from Lehr High School in 1945. Harvey entered the service in November of 1950. His basic training took place at Fort Riley, Kansas, after which he volunteered for U.S. Paratroop duty. Harvey then served with the 11th Airborne Division stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky until his discharge in November of 1952. Harvey married Stella M. Kauk September 26, 1954 at Lehr, ND. To this union two children were born, Carma Lou, born May 7, 1956 and passed away December 31, 1991 and Gary, born April 20, 1957. Harvey, along with his wife, Stella owned and operated the family farm, which has been in the Nagel family for three generations. After retirement from farming, Harvey worked for his neighbor, Henry Buchholz, for four years, which he always enjoyed. Harvey was a member of the American Legion Klauss-Becker Post #218 at Lehr, ND for 45 years, ten of which he served as Vice Commander and Finance Officer.

Harvey passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. He was 87 years old.

Harvey is survived by his son, Gary (special friend, Joni Dodds); three grandchildren; Jason (Melinda) Nagel, Lancaster, OH, Kyle (Jennifer) Nagel, Lincoln, ND and Lynsey (Nick Gross) Nagel, Napoleon, ND; three great-grandchildren; Viola and Quade, Lancaster, OH and Madalyn, Napoleon, ND; two brothers; Clayton (Marcy) Nagel, Lehr, ND and Willis (Naomi) Nagel, Jamestown, ND; three sisters; Shirley Diede, Jamestown, ND, Arbadella (Melvin) Fiechtner, Lehr, ND and Janet (Larry) George, Springfield, MN; many nieces and nephews.
