The funeral for Harold Giesler, Kulm, ND will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Congregational Church at Kulm, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND. Burial will be at the Congregational Cemetery, Kulm, ND.


Harold Giesler son of Henry and Johanna (Goehner) Giesler was born March 19, 1930 at Merricourt, ND. He grew up and attended rural school in rural Merricourt, ND. Harold was united in marriage to Edna Franz December 29, 1951 at Merricourt, ND. They farmed on his parent's farm for 5 years. They purchased the Gottieb and Sophia Herman farm in 1956 east of Kulm, ND where they farmed until 1984 when they moved into Kulm, ND. Harold was active helping his son and son-in-law on the farms. He loved his grandchildren. Harold was a Pitcher for the Merricourt–Kulm Baseball Team until 1965 and also loved fishing. Harold was a member of the Kulm Congregational Church and served as a Trustee and Usher for the church. He entered the Prince of Peace Care Center at Ellendale, ND on March 5, 2009.


Harold died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Prince of Peace Care Center of Ellendale, ND. He was 81 years old.

Harold is survived by his wife, Edna of 59 years; son, Gary (Carrie) Giesler, Kulm, ND; daughter, Randa (Mark) Nill, Kulm, ND; 9 grandchildren, Daniel (Katie) Nill, Fargo, ND; Caleb (Jacey) Nill, Kulm, ND; Ava Marie Nill, Fargo, ND; Eric Giesler, and fiance' Carol Hollingsworth, Kulm, ND; Brent Giesler, Jamestown, ND; Samantha Giesler, Grand Forks, ND; Allison, McKenzie and Madison Giesler, Kulm, ND; one sister, Ivy (Gene) Klose, Jamestown, ND and one brother, Herbert ( Arlene) Giesler, Kulm, ND. Harold was preceded in death by triplets born in 1955, his parents, 4 brothers, Fred, Oscar, Robert (Bob) and infant brother Henry Jr., 4 sisters, Martha, Ella, Esther and Hulda.
