The memorial service for Gottfried Heinrich, Napoleon, ND will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, ND at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Ashley Lutheran Cemetery, Ashley, ND.

Gottfried Heinrich son of Karl & Christina (Schumacher) Heinrich was born July 31, 1918 in Coldwater District 18 miles southeast of Ashley, ND. He had 4 brothers, Edward (Anna), John (Christina), August (Erna) & Bill (Edith), and 2 sisters, Emma (Albert) Bertsch, Mary (Adam) Schneider. Gottfried completed the 8th grade and work for a thrashing crew in 1936 at Sisseton, SD. He joined the CCC Camp at Redwing, MN. He also worked in a grocery & meat packing plant. Gottfried was united in marriage to Luella Thurn December 1, 1940 and took over the family farm. They had 3 children. They moved to Ashley, ND in 1964 where they were sidewalk farmers and also run the bowling alley for 4 years. He played baseball for the Coldwater Store in younger years, was a avid golfer and gardener. Gottfried moved to the assisted Living Apartments in Napoleon, ND in 2008 and entered the Napoleon Care Center in 2011.

Gottfried died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon, ND. He was 96 years old.

Gottfried is survived by his 2 daughters, Julie (Jerry) Kuhn, Napoleon, ND, Cindy (Doug) Mittet, Fargo, ND. 3 grandchildren, Stacy (John) Warcup, Michael (Kimberly) Kuhn, Alicia Mittet, 6 great grandchildren, Peter Warcup, Sydney Warcup, Kirsten Warcup, Lucia Kuhn, Violet Kuhn, Gavin Lesoine.
