George Ulmer, 93, of Wishek passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Wishek Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Faith Community Church, Wishek, ND. A Livestream of George's Funeral Service will be available on the Faith Community Church of Wishek Facebook Page. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will take place in the Wishek City Cemetery.

George William Ulmer was born May 6, 1927 on the family farm near Danzig, ND to William and Martha (Knoll) Ulmer. He attended country school 2 miles west of the family farm. George married Arle Jean Jenner on October 29, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley, ND.

George and Jean farmed south of Danzig for four years. In 1956 they moved to a farm nine miles southeast of Wishek. In 1989 they retired and moved into Wishek. During retirement George worked part time as the care taker of the Green Lake Park.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling, going for drives in the country, being out at Green Lake and watching boxing and the Minnesota Twins.

George is survived by his wife of 67 years Jean Ulmer, Wishek, ND; children, Pam Geiszler, Ashley, ND Keith (Jackie) Ulmer Wishek, ND and son-in-law, Larry Meidinger, Ashley, ND; grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Meidinger, Jamie (Josh) Bullock, Nicole (Terry Jay) Scherr, Travis (Reanna) Geiszler, McKenzie Ulmer and Madison Ulmer; great-grandchildren, Mea and Taya Scherr, Diem, Everleigh and Greyson Bullock, Alexa Meidinger and Braxton and Brady Dahl; sisters, Irene Thurn and Frieda (Bud) Billington; sister-in-law's, Caroline Ulmer, Vivian Ulmer and Violet Ulmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sheila Meidinger, son-in-law Vern Geiszler, sisters Clara Speidel and Ruth Battles, brothers Clarence, Ben, Emil, Wilbert, Norman, John and Oscar.
