The funeral service for Gene Ferdinand Rudolf, Wishek, ND, will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND.

Gene Ferdinand Rudolf, son of Ferdinand and Lenora (Weisz) Rudolf was born February 28, 1951 in Aberdeen, SD. Gene grew up on the Rudolf homestead, twelve miles southwest of Wishek. He attended rural country school from first through fourth grades, transferring to Wishek Public School, and graduating in 1970. He attended North Dakota State School of Science for two years, graduating with a degree in auto mechanics. He was employed as an auto mechanic in both Bismarck and Fargo, before returning to Wishek in 1973 to farm. On October 11, 1975, Gene married Deborah Gross, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wishek, ND. Gene and Deborah are the parents of three children, Stacey, Melisa, and Michael. He enjoyed racing snowmobiles, collecting classic cars, all sorts of clocks, and jackets. Gene was a perfectionist. He lived for farming and was a mentor and role model for many that crossed his path. Gene was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he served on the church council, taught CCD and was a member of the building committee. He was a member of the Wishek Wildlife Club and Wishek FFA Alumni.  Gene loved his community and made many caring donations to various organizations to help keep the Wishek community thriving.

On March 21, 2018 Gene's life ended on the Rudolf farm, where his family and love for farming began.

Gene is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deborah, Wishek, ND; two daughters, Stacey (Farrell) Fetzer, Bismarck, ND; Melisa (Vince) Meidinger, Wishek, ND; one son, Michael Gene (fiancée Rochelle Stevahn), Harrisville, UT; six grandchildren, Nevin Gene Fetzer, Nya Fetzer, Javen Entzi, Bella Meidinger, Ellie Rudolf, and Russ Rudolf; one sister, Connie Grosz, Fargo, ND.
