The funeral for Frieda Forderer, Wishek, ND will be Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
Frieda, daughter of Peter and Justina (Wanner) Thurn was born November 8, 1918 in McIntosh County. Frieda grew up and attended country school in McIntosh County area. Frieda married Edward Forderer on October 18, 1938. Together they farmed west of Linton, ND until 1947. They then farmed in the Braddock, Wishek and Streeter areas. In 1963 they moved to Jamestown, ND and resided there for 25 years. Frieda was employed in child care, cleaning business and 8 years as a seamstress at Economy Cleaners, retiring in 1987. She and Edward moved back to Wishek due to Edward's ill health and to be near relatives. Edward passed away in 1993. Frieda entered the Wishek Nursing Home in 2003. She appreciated the friendships and wonderful assistance heaped upon her during her stay. Frieda enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and playing keyboard (by ear). She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek. Her greatest treasures were her family, friends and all the fun and laughter she shared with them.
Frieda Forderer, Wishek, ND died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. She was 95 years old.
Frieda is survived by two sons; Harvey Forderer, West Fargo, ND and Elmer Forderer, Carlsborg, WA; two daughters, Shirley (Robert) Kloberdanz, Colorado Springs, CO and Donna (Myron) Morlock, Pierre, SD; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren ; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy (Karl) Ottmar, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, four brothers, Ferdinand Thurn, Fred Thurn, Otto Thurn and Emil Thurn; three sisters, Adina Just, Marie Bradley and Martha Forderer, two daughters-in-law, Lois Forderer and Marlene Forderer.
