Obituary

The funeral for Freda Ketterling, of Wishek, ND will be Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the First Baptist Church at Wishek. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 8:00 pm at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the Wishek City Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Freda Woehl was born March 28, 1914 in McIntosh County near Wishek, ND, the oldest daughter of Fred and Lydia (Bender) Woehl. Freda was united in marriage to Ruben Ketterling on January 8, 1935 in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church near Wishek. They made their home on the family farm north of Zeeland until 1964 when their farm was destroyed by a tornado. In 1964 they moved to a farm 4 1/2 miles east of Wishek and in 1968 they moved into Wishek. After they moved into Wishek, Freda did domestic work for area families. Ruben passed away February 18, 1994. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wishek, ND.

Freda died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. She was 103 years old.

Freda is survived by three sons, D. Dale (Arvilla) Ketterling, DoWayne (Agnes) Ketterling, and Ron (Diane) Ketterling, all of Wishek, ND. Seven grandchildren, DelRoy (Cindy) Ketterling, Doreen (Blair) Bechtle, Daphne (Randy) Hauck, Cheri (Rowen) Roloff, Val (Neil) Geffre, Vicki (Jerry) Geffre, and Jonathan Ketterling; three step-grandchildren, Marsha (Sheldon) Kauk, Melissa (Mark) Klimpel, and Mary Wald (Chad Wanner). Sixteen great-grandchildren, Michael (Alissa) Bechtle, Stephanie (Craig) Miller, Amy Bechtle, Aaron Bechtle, Kristen (Joel) Knudsen, Amber (Nathan) Hakk, Derek (Morgan) Hauck, Danielle Hauck, Nathan Hauck, McKenna Roloff, Addisen Roloff, Tanner Geffre, Samantha Geffre, Brady Geffre, Adam Geffre, and Taylor Geffre. Seven step great-grandchildren, Everette, Shelby, Grace, and Ethan Kauk, Whitney, Morgan, and Olivia Klimpel. Four great-great-grandchildren, Landon and Connor Bechtle, Brynna and Brody Hauck. One sister, Irene Aipperspach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Ketterling, one granddaughter, Darnell Ketterling, parents, Fred and Lydia, one brother, Julius Woehl, two sisters, Tillie Wilson and Ruth Aipperspach.
