Frances Ella Serr, 73, of Linton, passed away September 25, 2021, at Sanford Health, Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 1st at 1:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30th from 5-7 PM with a rosary and prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the Linton City Cemetery. A Livestream of Fran's Funeral Service will be available on the Dahlstrom Funeral Service Facebook page.
Frances Ella (Grad) Serr was born on January 8, 1948 to Frank and Cecelia Grad in Mobridge SD.
Fran grew up in Mound City, SD and Graduated from Herreid High School in Herreid SD. After Graduation Fran worked in Mobridge. Fran met the love of her life, Harry on a blind date and they were married on October 21, 1967. They made their home in Linton, ND where they raised their 3 children, Tamara, Raymond and Dawn.
Fran did daycare for many years, worked at the Linton Public School as the High School Librarian aid for 33 ½ years. She also worked at Gas Plus and Model Bakery. After she retired you would often find her in the recliner with a good book.
Fran's love and devotion as well as her beautiful smile will forever be cherished. She was never too busy to do anything with her children and grand-children. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help whomever she could. She gave the very best hugs. She was always up for a great game of May I! Fran was a beautiful soul, one in a million and will be missed dearly.
Fran was a member of the Christian Mothers, American Legion Auxillary, she was also a avid reader and loved spending time at the Public Library.
Fran is survived by her husband, Harry of 53 years; her children, Tamara (Dean) Volk, Ray (Nicki) Serr, Dawn (Toby) Dewitz; her grand-children, Erin (Brady), Linzee, Samantha, Zach (Whitney), Jess (Clay), Lexi, Seth and Jake; great-grandchild, Lily Mae Serr; Siblings, Bob (Theresa), Joe (Sharon), Virlene (James), Cecilia (Doug), Linda (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cecelia; In-laws, Adolph and Lily; brothers, Ray, Don, Leo, Lloyd and sister-in-law, Joan.
