Frances Herr, 95, of Wishek, ND, died April 22, 2024, at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at Feist Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will take place at Beaver Creek Baptist Cemetery SW of Wishek. Frances Delores Kogler was born August 25, 1928, on a farm west of Green Lake in McIntosh County to Jacob and Christina (Koth) Kogler.  At the age of eight, she and her family moved into the town of Wishek.  She was raised and educated there, graduating from Wishek High School in 1947. She then went on to attend North Dakota State Normal and Industrial School at Ellendale, where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught school for two years in rural McIntosh County.

Frances married Floyd Herr on November 25, 1952, in Bismarck, ND. Together they settled on the Herr family farm 15 miles southwest of Wishek, where they farmed and raised their family.  She worked intermittently in many positions, including for the 1970 US Census.  In 1991 they semi-retired and moved into Wishek.  They continued to travel with friends and family to many places.  When Floyd passed away in 2009, Frances continued to live in her home until moving to the Wishek Living Center in 2017, where she currently resided.

Frances was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Wishek, where she was the financial treasurer for several years. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society, the Wishek Saddle Club, and the Wishek Car Club.

Frances enjoyed baking and was well known for her ammonia cookies. She also loved spending time with her family, who she cherished deeply and always encouraged education and adventure to them.

Frances is survived by her children: Wanda (Clyde) Strandquist, West Fargo, ND and Glenn (Beth) Herr, Wishek, ND; five grandchildren: Sarah Smith, Kari (Shane) Eskelson, Jennifer (Grant) Bollingberg, Barrett (Patti) Herr and Jeremy (Alissa) Herr; 13 great grandchildren: Mara and Owen Smith; Lillian, Cayden and Ally Eskelson; Jacob, Lucas and Isaac Bollingberg; Easton, Nori and William Herr; and Emree and Logan Herr; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Aubin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Floyd.
