Frances Becker, 88, of Napoleon, ND, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Miller Pointe Good Samaritan Society, Mandan, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be on Monday, April 8th, from 6-7 PM with a rosary/vigil at 7:00 PM at Feist Funeral Home, Napoleon. Burial will be held at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024.
Frances Theckla Kuntz, daughter of Peter Kuntz and Barbara (Schutt) was born on August 23, 1935, in Emmons County. She grew up on a farm in Kintyre and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1952.
Frances married Joe Becker on October 14, 1952. Joe and Frances farmed and raised 6 children on a farm southeast of Napoleon. They built a new home and moved into Napoleon in 1979.
Frances was the Auxiliary President, membership chairman, Secretary of the Alter Society, Secretary and Treasurer of the Golden Age, V.P. of the volunteer singers of the St Philip Neri Catholic Church Choir. She also worked as a clerk for 11 years at Napoleon Drug.
She loved to dance, play cards, going to coffee with her friends, singing and reading in church.
Frances is survived by her 6 children, Jerry (Barb) Becker, Tom (Carrie) Becker, Jolene (Marc) Patchen, Sharlene (Dave) Arvig, Joseph (Jackie) Becker, Jackie (Robert) Fettig; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Piatz; brother, Peter Kuntz Jr; sisters-in-law; Betty Schumacher, Alice Regner, Carol Kuntz, Carol, Tillie, Lavata and Marvie Becker; brothers-in-law; Gerald Regner, Leo and Leonard Becker.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; sister, Ann Sperle; parents, Peter and Barbara Kuntz; parents-in-law, Anton and Alicia Becker; sisters-in-law, Helen Schumacher, Anna Mary Ibach, Helen Becker, brothers-in-law, Martin Sperle, Leo Piatz, Tony Schumacher, Leo Ibach, Kenny Schumacher, Pete, George, Anton, and Paul Becker.
