Frances Aberle, 89, of Napoleon, ND, died August 2, 2025, at the Wentz Living Center, Napoleon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Frances was born May 19, 1936, on a farm near Napoleon to Christ and Lydia (Himmerich) Oberlander. She attended country school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1953. Frances went on to attend college to be a teacher. Following that she taught country school for a couple of years. Frances married Anton Aberle on November 11, 1957. Together they lived in Napoleon, where she worked at the Logan County Treasures Office and then Wentz Equipment. Following that she returned to the Logan County Court House, where she worked most of her career, retiring as Deputy Auditor.
Francis enjoyed going for walks, reading and visiting with friends and family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was member of the WELCA group.
Frances is survived by her sisters Adeline Moser, Napoleon and Donna (Alfred) Adam, North Andover, MA; brother, Curt (Helen) Oberlander, Tomah, WI; and will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony; sisters, Luella Oberlander, Lucille (Bob) Scott and Eileen (Adam) Graff; brothers, Art (Elaine) Oberlander, Ray (Delores) Oberlander and Robert (Linda) Oberlander; and brother-in-law, Edward Moser.
