The funeral service for Floyd Brosy, Wishek, ND, will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 10:30 am at the Faith Community Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the Wishek City Cemetery.

Floyd Brosy, son of Jacob Jr. and Lydia (Ketterling) Brosy was born July 27, 1941 on the family farm four miles west of Wishek. He attended school in Wishek and graduated from Wishek High School in 1960. Floyd was a lifelong resident of Wishek. He began farming on his own after high school while driving semi part-time. He purchased the family farm in the early 60's. On September 1, 1979, Floyd married Sheila Orth, at the United Church of Christ in Wishek, ND. They were blessed with two daughters, Kendra and Jill.  Floyd took pride in his family, home, and his farm. He enjoyed being an active member of the Wishek United Church of Christ, listening to many sermons and singing countless songs with the choir. He liked to shoot trap with his friends, he took pride in his vehicles, and was also an active member of the North Dakota Farm Bureau for many years. After retirement, Floyd enjoyed playing cards with his buddies 'up town', cooking delicious meals, and spending time driving around checking the land. His passion for farming stayed with him long after retirement and he never got tired of seeing the fruits of a farmer's labor. Floyd took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Harper Grace. All those who knew Floyd, knew he had a joyous personality and a tremendously big heart.

Floyd died October 28, 2017 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. He was 76 years old.

Grateful to have shared in his life are his wife of 38 years, Sheila, Wishek, ND; two daughters, Kendra Brosy, Fargo, ND; Jill (Dale) Ackland, Jamestown, ND; one granddaughter, Harper Ackland; two sisters, Elleen Wiest, Wyndmere, ND; Betty (Aloys) Grosz, Shakopee, MN; sisters-in-law, Gladys Brosy, Wishek, ND; Sandy (David) Link, Wagner, SD; Carol (Adam) Lutz, Artas, SD; eight nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Milbert Orth; mother-in-law, Irene Herman; two brothers, Elmer Brosy and Delmar Brosy; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Wiest.
