The funeral for Evelyn H. Johnson, Kintyre, North Dakota will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kintyre, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at the Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.
Evelyn Peterson was born June 12, 1925 on the family farm west of Braddock, along with a twin brother to John and Hildur (Feltheim) Peterson. She attended elementary and high school in Braddock, ND. After graduation she taught rural schools for 2 years. Evelyn worked at Provident Life Insurance Company for a short time. Evelyn was united in marriage to Clarence Johnson on February 14, 1946 in Bismarck, ND. They lived on a farm southeast of Kintyre. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, sewing, making crafts, crocheting afghans, making quilts, time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kintyre, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She also was a member of the Log–Em Club for 50 years.
Evelyn passed away, surrounded by her children Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. She was 88 years old.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Roger (Connie) Johnson, Kintyre, ND and Brent Johnson, Bismarck, ND; one daughter, Brenda (Robert) Dozier, Brunswick, MD; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion Johnson, California; sisters–in-law and brothers–in-law, Arvada Johnson, Bismarck, ND, John (Edna) Johnson, Kintyre, ND Clifford (Ellen) Johnson, Avon Park, FL, Beulah Pickens, Fredericksburg, TX, June (James) Nash, Katy, TX, Francis Campagna, Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence of 59 years, parents, one sister, Pearl Doll, four brothers, her twin, Everett Peterson, Melvin Peterson, Lauritz Peterson and John Peterson; six sisters–in-law, Gen Peterson, Alvina Peterson, Sylvia Felix, Gladys Heifner, Alice Campagna and Anne Johnson; six brothers-in-law, Einerd Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Allen Heifner, Marvin Pickens, Warren Johnson and Anton Doll.
