Eva Hanson, 91, of Linton, passed away July 11, 2020, at St. Gabriel's Community, Bismarck, ND. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 17, 2020, at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND. Burial will be held at the Linton Cemetery.

Eva was born May 22, 1929, to Leonard and Christina (Reiger) Martel. She was raised on a farm south of Wishek where she attended country school. She lived on the family farm until she married Rueben Vilhauer on July 7, 1946. Together they farmed and raised their family south of Wishek and later moved into Wishek. Rueben passed away August 16, 1966.

Eva remained in Wishek until she married Wallace Hanson on November 20, 1967. They lived on a ranch Northeast of Linton. Eva loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends on the ranch.  Wallace passed away September 1, 1995.  Eva continued to live on the ranch eventually moving into Linton in 1998.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, embroidering dish towels, and quilting.  She entered St. Gabriel's Community in Bismarck, ND in August of 2019.

She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church Women's Ministry, Red Hats Society, Emmons County Historical Society, Homemakers Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Shirley (Dave) Grenz, Linton, Victor (Jo) Vilhauer, Wishek, Sylvia (Richard) Schumacher, Zeeland, Karen (Robert) Welk, Bismarck, Ruby (Paul) Benning, Bismarck, Lyle (Cheryl) Hanson, Linton and daughter-in-law, Bev Vilhauer, Wishek; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Elmer and Donald Martel; sisters, Pauline Marzolf and Eleanor Lance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Rueben Vilhauer and Wallace Hanson, her son Vern Vilhauer and 10 brothers and sisters.
