The funeral for Eugene Kinzler, Kulm, ND will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church at Kulm, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery, Kulm, ND.
Eugene was born September 18, 1927 in Norden Township, northwest of Kulm, ND, the son of Albert and Kathryn (Krueger) Kinzler. Eugene attended country school near Kulm, ND. He married Nora Welk in Kulm, ND, on March 31, 1951. After their marriage they moved to Jamestown, ND. Eugene was self-employed as a mechanic for many years in the Fredonia, Kulm, and Osnabrock, ND areas. He was also employed by Northern Improvement Construction Company as a truck mechanic for many years. The family moved to Cavalier County at the time the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) sites were under construction, and he was employed with Morrison-Knutson Construction Company. Later, he worked with Pan American Airlines Company at the PAR site at Concrete, ND. The family moved to Osnabrock, ND in June 1973 Eugene and Nora moved back to Jamestown, ND, in May 1989, at which time Eugene semi-retired, then helped his sons, Keith, on the farm, and Steve, at the gas station in Kulm. Nora passed away June 4, 2009, and Eugene entered Wishek Living Center in May 2010. Eugene's hobbies included playing accordion, and at one time was in a band called "Silver Notes", which his daughter, Linda, was also a member. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Knights of Pythias.
Eugene died Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek, ND. He was 85 years old.
Eugene is survived by one daughter, Linda (Kim) Norheim, Piedmont, SD; two sons, Steven (Joleen) Kinzler, Kulm, ND and Keith (Mary Jo) Kinzler, Kulm, ND; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one brother, Earl, Farmington Hills, MI.
