Eugene Gefroh, 83, of Hague, ND, passed away on September 29, 2021, with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 4th at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3 ^rd from 3-5 PM with a rosary and prayer service at 5:00 PM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Hague. Eugene was born on April 8, 1938 to Bernhard and Barbara (Mastel) Gefroh.  He grew up on the family farm North of Hague.  He attended country school until the 8 ^th grade from there he received his high school diploma through correspondence.

Eugene married Viola Vetter on May 19, 1962 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton. They made their home on the family farm where they lovingly raised their 6 children.  He enjoyed farming, playing cards, games, bowling, going to the casino, traveling, playing guitar and singing with his children after church. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and baseball with Father Bonifas and some neighbors, traveling to the surrounding areas for games.

Family was very important to Eugene, he especially enjoyed spending time and playing games with his grandchildren. He was very smart, having taught himself how to play the guitar and was hardworking and kind. He was also a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.  During the summer on a rainy day you never knew where we'd go- Medora, Black Hills, or the State Fair.

Eugene is survived by his wife Viola of 59 years; 2 sons and 3 daughters; Lori (Adrian)  Int Veldt, Steven Gefroh, Glen (Lori) Gefroh, Carrie (Todd) Nieuwsma, Sara Gefroh; grandchildren, Tiffany Int Veldt, Tanner (Lacy) Int Veldt, Austin (Lexi) Int Veldt, Jadyn Gefroh, Boston Gefroh, Aaron (Taylor) Nieuwsma, Ashlee (Aaron) Kocher and Jordan (Anna) Nieuwsma; great-grandchildren, Paislee and Ambree Kocher; son-in-law, Robert Fiechtner; brothers, Leo, Dan (Patty) and LeRoy (Eleanor) Gefroh; sisters, Helen (LeRoy) Fischer, Rose (Ray) Hulm, Janice Heidrich and Alice (Tim) Burgad; In-laws, Larry Vetter, Judy (Wes) Loebs, Philip Vetter, Marlene (Dwight) Perkins, Jane Vetter and Diane Vetter and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, Bernhard and Barbara; daughter, Wanda Fiechtner; brothers, Al Gefroh, and Charles and Rosie Gefroh; infant, sister and brother, Angeline, Francis; mother and father-in-law, Philip and Annie Vetter; brothers-in-law, DeWayne Heidrich, Ralph Vetter and Kenny Vetter.
