Our precious husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend Eugene A. Anderson went to be with Jesus on October 1, 2023 at the age of 99. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Kulm Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM with a family service at 6:30 PM at Kulm Assembly of God Church. Burial will be held at Kulm Assembly of God Cemetery. Eugene was born July 29, 1924 to Gust and Helga Anderson in Swede Township, north of Kulm, ND.  He attended country school through 8th grade and then went to Kulm High School, graduating in 1943. He worked on the family farm and ran a threshing crew. He worked in California over a winter then returned to the farm for spring work and to take over the farm belonging to his uncle John.

In 1949, Eugene married Lucille Roloff.  They had 5 children: Kaye, Curtis, Sybil, Harlan and Doreen. They farmed until retiring and moving into town in 1996.

Eugene played baseball on the Swede team with his brothers and friends from 1944-1955. Later in life he enjoyed playing golf and is known for his well-aged golf cart with no cover.

In December 1954 Eugene accepted Jesus as his Savior and served God faithfully and with deep love.  Eugene and Lucille attended Kulm Assembly of God Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, was on the church board and sang in the church choir. In the community he was on the Swede Township Board, Kulm School Board, and the Kulm Credit Union Board.  He and Lucille were custodians at the church for 13 years and at the Kulm Golf Course for 14 years.

Eugene was a man of prayer and the Word of God.  He spent early morning time reading his Bible and praying.  In the last years, he has selected a verse for each day to share with the extended family.  We have record of so many favorite verses.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 74 years Lucille; his children Kaye (John) Burich, Curtis (Joy) Anderson, Sybil (Steve) Anderson, daughter in law (Laurie) Anderson and Doreen (Paul) Wibbels; his grandchildren Nathan (Mandy), Sam (Shanna), Jason (Jen), Seth (Kalin), Simon (special friend Nikki), Katie and Josh; Great grandchildren Quinton, Jackson, Max, Braelyn, Audrey, Addie, Blakely, Rayna, Brayah, Riggs and Kashton; his sister June and his sisters-in-law Joyce and Arla; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Vincent, Arley and Joe, his sisters Ardis, Judith and Rosella, his son Harlan.
