Esther Buchholz, 89, of Fargo, ND formerly of Wishek, died August 7, 2026, at St. Catherine North Care Center, Fargo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Lehr Community Church, Lehr, ND. Burial will take place at the Lehr Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Esther was born to Jacob and Maggie (Zimmerman) Moser on April 29,1937. She was raised in Ashley, ND and attended school until the 7th grade when she had to stay home and help her grandmother with the other children.

In 1956, she married Leonard Buchholz. They made their home in Ashley, ND and later Ellendale, ND. She worked for the Ellendale hospital for many years until they moved to Wishek, ND where she worked for the Wishek retirement home until she retired in 2003. Esther later moved to Jamestown, ND and in 2010 she married Victor Michaelsohn and in 2018 they moved and made their home in Fargo, ND. Through the years Esther enjoyed crocheting, sewing and tending to her flower beds and gardens.

Esther entered St. Catherine North retirement home in 2021, where she enjoyed doing diamond art, playing bingo and visiting with other residents and staff.

Esther is survived by her son, Randy (Kim) Buchholz, Fargo, ND; daughter, Debby (Curt) Albrecht, Bismarck, ND; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Wick, Plains, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob & Maggie Moser; husbands, Leonard Buchholz and Victor Michaelsohn; son, Robert Buchholz; sisters, Betty Goebel and Margaret Scherbenske; and brother, Rueben Moser.
