The funeral for Ellen Vetter, Bismarck, ND formerly of Wishek, ND will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wishek, ND at 10:30 AM.  Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND.  Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Ellen Johs daughter of Carl and Eva (Sperle) Johs was born October 25, 1936 south of Napoleon, ND in Logan County.  She grew up and attended rural school south of Napoleon, ND.  Ellen graduated from Napoleon High School, Napoleon, ND.  After her graduation she move to Bismarck, ND and worked at the North Dakota Land Grant Department in the State Capitol.  Ellen was united in marriage to Mathias Vetter on February 25, 1957 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church rural Kintyre, ND.  They made their home at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, MO. from 1957 to 1960 when they moved to Wishek, ND.  In 1960, they started Vetter's Surge where she works as the bookkeeper until her retirement in 1999.  Ellen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society.  She enjoyed square dancing, walking, flowers, and she was a 4-H Club Leader for nineteen years.  Ellen and Mathias enjoyed traveling and seeing the world.

Ellen died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, ND.  She was 82 years old.

Ellen is survived by her four children, Arleen (Steve) McKay, Fargo, ND, Steve (Mary) Vetter, Wishek, ND, Shari ( Kelly) Buchholz, Bismarck, ND, Tracy (Doug) Pearson, Mankato, MN; two brothers, John (Sally) Johs, Napoleon, ND, Charles (Roberta) Johs, Napoleon, ND; two sisters, Ottilia (Willie) Piatz, Napoleon, ND, Elaine Gross, Napoleon, ND;  eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with the 14th on the way "Little Dean".  Share Memories and sigh online guest book at www.dahlstromfuneralservice.com .  Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND entrusted with arrangements.
