Elleen Wiest, 87, of Wyndmere, ND formerly of Wishek, ND, died March 5, 2026, at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. Luke Cemetery. A livestream of Elleen's funeral service will be available on the St. Luke Wishek YouTube page.
Elleen was born to Jacob Jr. and Lydia (Ketterling) Brosy on April 17, 1938, on the family farm four miles west of Wishek. After graduating from Wishek High School, she attended Ellendale State Teachers College. She taught at a country school for several years. She was united in marriage to Clarence Wiest on August 24, 1958, in Wishek. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm until 1992, when they moved to Fairmount, ND. For the next 20 years she cooked at the Wahpeton Senior Center until she retired at the age of 73.
Elleens special love was her grandchildren. She was always up for a fun road trip with her kids – enjoying the scenery along the way.
Grateful to have shared Elleen's life are her children, Lucinda Bardell, LuRhonda (Gary) Tobin, Doran (Cindy) Wiest and Dorinda (Scott) Doll; grandchildren, Rachel (Kerry) Wager, Rebecca Tobin (Michael Arbach), Terrance Wiest (Hailey Ciesynski), Dalton Wiest, Devon Wiest (Trinity Ringdahl) Treyton Wiest, Dallas (Addabelle) Doll and Jayden Doll; great grandchildren, Jace and Rance Wager; sister, Betty (Aloys) Grosz; sister-in-law, Sheila Brosy and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Clarence; grandson- Trenton Wiest; son-in-law- Ray Bardell; parents- Jacob Jr. and Lydia Brosy; in-laws- Gottlieb and Hertha Wiest, brothers- Elmer, Floyd and Delmar Brosy; and sister-in-law- Gladys Brosy.
