The funeral for Elizabeth "Betty" Schumacher will be Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 4-5 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery.

Betty Marquart was born August 13, 1931in Napoleon, ND to Joseph and Barbara (Weigel) Marquart. She attended school in Napoleon up until the 8 ^th grade. She then worked on the farm and other various jobs until moving to Lodi, CA in 1966. In California Betty worked as a CNA for many years, retiring when she was 78 years old. She moved back to Napoleon in 2010 to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren.

She loved to dance to polkas and waltzes and enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty passed away June 5, 2020 at the Napoleon Care Center. She was 88 years old.

Betty is survived by her children, Roxanne Hilzendeger (Kevin Gruneich Sr.), Napoleon, Jeff Hilzendeger, Lodi, CA and Connie Schumacher, Napoleon; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Gladys Marquart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ben Hilzendeger and Joseph Schumacher, son Terry Hilzendeger, great-grandchild Kaitlyn Gruneich and 13 siblings.
