Eileen Ketterling, 91, of Wishek, ND, passed away December 8, 2021 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17 ^th at 11:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Eileen Magdalena Burlack Ketterling was born in Burnstad, North Dakota on the family homestead, August 19, 1930, to Fredericka Ritter Burlack Wolf and Philip Burlack. Eileen moved to Wishek in 1949 where she worked for Herr Mercantile and after the store's closing, she was a receptionist for a Doctors Office. She later took certification courses and worked as a Bank Teller for McIntosh County Bank in Lehr and Ashley and later Central Dakota Bank in Lehr where she meet Walter Ketterling. They married June 4 ^th , 1966 and she began working at the Wishek Nursing Home. With the passing of Walter, May 1985, she moved back to Wishek. Eileen entered the Wishek Living Center October 3, 2019 where she resided until her passing.

She was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She sang in the German and Church Choir and quilted 40 years for the Mission Field Quilts every Tuesday. She made the best popcorn and loved watching Westerns on television, especially re-runs of the Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke. She collected memorabilia and loved attending auctions and garage sales. The highlight of her day was coffee with her friends. She taught herself how to tatte and it was her joy to tatte an edge around a hankie and give it as a souvenir.

Eileen is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Ketterling; brothers, Benjamin Burlack and John Burlack; sisters, Alma Burlack Heupel, Erma Burlack Zavilowitz, Marion Burlack Vossler and Arleen Burlack Krien.
