The funeral for Edward W. Sayler, Wishek, ND will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Faith Community Church in Wishek, ND at 10:30 a.m.

Edward Sayler was born September 9, 1928 to Fred and Martha (Ackerman) Sayler on the family farmstead near Wishek, ND.  Edward attended rural school before attending Wishek Public School graduating in 1947.  Eddie worked at the Mobil station before entering the National Guard.  After serving in the Korean Conflict, he purchased Mobil Bulk Oil.  Edward married the love of his life Verna Eiseman on February 13, 1955 at St. John's Congregation Church.  He purchased Sayler Hardware which he operated until 1987.  He was also involved in the video business with his sons John and Keith.

After retiring, Eddie continued to stay active with his dedication to his family and his community through public service.  His hobbies included a love for wood-working.  He spent countless hours making Christmas gifts for his grandchildren.  When he wasn't in his shop working on projects he was often serving the community he loved.  Eddie was a Charter Member on the original board and served as secretary/treasurer of the Wishek Living Center Board for 47 years.   He was also on the Wishek Fire Department for over 50 years, the Wishek Hospital Board, the Centennial Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Saddle Club and Wishek Lions Club.  Eddie loved his time at the Lake and on the farm.

Eddie died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Wishek Living Center at the age of 90.

He is survived by his loving wife Verna, Wishek, four sons, John (Karla), Bismarck, Tim (Lori) , Fargo, Keith (Shelli), Wishek, Mark, Aberdeen and one daughter Michelle (Dean) Bushee, Bismarck; ten grandchildren, Lauren, Rachael, David, Patrick, Christine, Adam, Michael (Sarah), Jordan (Brittany), Daniel (Zoe), Cody (Claudia); four great grandchildren, Eli, Kate, Ben, Christian;  five sisters, Leona Aipperspach, Wishek, Eunice Brandt, Sacramento, CA, Phyllis Gehring, Fargo, Ardella (Stan) Moeckel, Wishek, Judy (Tom) Jackson, Edgewater, FL, two brothers, Rolland (Joan) Sayler, Wishek and Larry (Marge) Sayler, Valley City.  His Sister-in-law Violet Diegel, Wishek and his Brother-in-law Walter (Marilyn) Eiseman, Bismarck.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Alice (Mic) McKeever and Violet (Stan) Campbell and his brother-in-law's Rueben Aipperspach, Bill Huber, Cal Gehring, Waldemar Diegel and his sister-in-law Irene Kessinger.  Dahlstrom Funeral Home of Wishek, ND entrusted with arrangements.
