The funeral service for Duane Kinzler will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Kulm, ND. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held in the spring at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Kulm, ND. Duane passed away February 14, 2020 at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale, ND. He was 85 years old.

Duane was born June 6, 1934 on the family farm seven miles northwest of Kulm, ND, the son of Martin and Lydia (Rath) Kinzler. He was baptized in Fredonia, ND and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Kulm, ND.

Duane was raised on the farm and attended the Norden #3 school through the 8 ^th grade. He then went on to farm with his father and brother LeMar. After his father retired Duane and LeMar took over the farm until retiring in 1996. They moved to Kulm in 2001, where they lived until moving in June of 2019 to Ellendale, ND to live in the Evergreen Place.

Duane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kulm and served as a trustee and financial secretary. He loved horses and cattle and was very particular about how clean his vehicles were including his tractors. He and his brother LeMar were volunteers at the Prince of Peace Care Center for 15 years while their mother was a resident there and after her passing.

Duane is survived by his brother, LeMar Kinzler, Ellendale, ND; niece, Karen (Donald) Carlson, Edgeley, ND; nephew, Kenneth Ost, Jud, ND; great-nephews, David (Mary) Carlson and Dustin Carlson, Edgeley, ND, Joshua Ost, Jamestown, ND and Jeremiah Ost, West Fargo, ND; and his great- great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, LuElla Ost and Darlene Kinzler; and one nephew, Terry Ost.
