Dorothy Breitling, 90, of Wishek, ND, died April 5, 2024 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at the Wishek City Cemetery. Dorothy was born October 12, 1933 in rural Venturia, ND to William and Dorothea (Joachim) Bader. She grew up on a farm northwest of Venturia and attended school in Wishek, graduating from Wishek High School in 1951. Following high school, she received her teaching certificate and taught country school for two years.

Dorothy married Howard Breitling on September 16, 1953. Together they farmed and lived on the Breitling family farm until 1965 when they moved to Wishek.

Throughout the years Dorothy was involved in numerous organizations including the Ambassadors Club, Quilting Guild and the Dorcus Society. She was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Wishek.

During retirement Howard and Dorothy loved traveling around the country and abroad. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and spending time with family.

Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Sonia (Delore) Zimmerman, Grand Forks, ND, Dorinda Zuroff, Colorado Springs, CO and Mary Jo (John) Di Ubaldo, Aurora, CO; five grandchildren, Ian (Christina) Zimmerman, Rachel Zimmerman, Kayla (Geoff) Tibbals, Spencer (Christina) Mc Gannon and Avery Di Ubaldo; four great-grandchildren, Levi, Alice, Joseph and Ivy; and three sisters, La Verna Nies, Mildred Nies and Betty (Myron) Bender.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; son-in-law, Ron Zuroff; sister and brother-in-law, Irene (Albert) Dohn and two half-brothers, Art and Otto Bader.
