Donald Hahne, 83, of Lehr, ND, passed away September 27, 2022, at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wishek. Burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Strasburg. Donald was born February 17, 1939, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Bauer) Hahne on a farm NE of Herreid, SD. He attended school at a country school north of Herreid until the 8 ^th grade. After he left home he went to work for many farmers and ranchers. He then met his soon to be bride Jolene Kraft. He asked her for her hand in 1959 and they married in 1960.

Donald and Jolene moved to Mound City, SD where Don worked for a farmer until 1962. He continued working for other farmers and ranchers through the years. They moved to Milwaukee, WI for a short time, but the big city was just not cut out for him and his family, so they moved back to Lehr in 1972. They bought a farm where he farmed, milked cows, and trained horses.  In 1989 Don and Jolene moved into the city of Lehr where Don worked for the Lehr Public School for a few years, until the school closed. He then worked for the city of Lehr until his health began to fail. In December 2021, Donald moved into the Wishek Living Center due to his declining health, where he lived until his passing.

Donald loved spending time with his family, going on trail rides, playing cards, fishing, racing lawn mowers, and catching up on life. He was so proud of all his grandkids and great grandkids; they meant the world to him.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jolene; daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Wanner, Kindred; son, Randy (Norma) Lehr; brother, Tom (Myra) Hahne, Selby, SD; grandkids and great grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Hahne; his brothers and sisters, Robert, Lorraine, Tony, Joe, Bernard, Arnie, Willie, Mary and Loretta; and his beloved son, Dan.
