Denise "Denny" Block was the youngest of 18 children born to Sylvester and Constance (Ozlowski) Block on June 9 th , 1961 in Watertown, SD. She was baptized at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, SD on June 18th, 1961. Denny grew up and went to school in the Watertown, SD area.
On August 28 th , 1981 Denny married the love of her life, Ronald Wulf. Together they had two children, Renae in 1982 and Dallas in 1985. In 1993 the family moved to a farm north of Kulm, ND and built a beautiful life for themselves. In January of 2016 Denny's greatest wish, to become a grandmother, came true when Renae & her husband, Derrick, brought their daughter, Abigail Lynn Ost, home. In November of 2018, Denny was promoted to grandma to two when Dallas & his wife, Sadie, welcomed their son, Lawson Ronald Wulf.
The pride that Denny had in her family, especially when it came to her children and her grandchildren was apparent to everyone she knew. When her kids were involved in school activities, Denny was sure to attend every game and concert. Since becoming a grandma, every conversation revolved around her grand kids and often involved pictures and videos of Abby & Lawson.
Denny loved nothing more than making memories with her loved ones. Whether it was going on an annual trip to Deadwood with her friends, going out to the Kulm Country Club for a quick round of golf with Ron, Dallas, & Sadie, or going to a craft fair with Renae, she jumped at any opportunity to spend time with the people she cared about. Some of her most cherished family time was spent at one dirt track or another watching stock car races, often with Ron's Brother, Tim & his wife Sandy, & Denny's sister Becky & her husband Dave. Perhaps the thing that brought Denny the most joy was loading up the camper and heading out on an adventure with Ron and her beloved fur babies.
Denny had an infectious spirit that made her impossible to forget. She had an ability to make friends with everyone she met. Whether you knew her for five minutes or five years, if Denny liked you, you had a forever friend. Her fun-loving charisma is what earned her the title of "The Cool Aunt" to her 50 nieces and nephews. Denny loved to laugh, and no one could make her laugh more than her best friend and sister, Becky. When the pair was together you never knew what silly thing they were going to say or do but you could bet that no matter what it was you were going to have a stomachache from laughing so hard.
In November of 2019 Denny was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Where the treatments were able to rid the cancer from her body, it also led to other issues which ultimately left her unable to do the things that she loved most.
Where we ache from the loss of our beloved Denny, we find comfort in knowing that her incredible soul is free of the constraints of her earthly body.
Denny was greeted in heaven by her parents, Sylvester & Constance Block; Godmother and sister, Dorothy Schimmel; siblings , Georgia Block, Larry Block, Michael Block, and Vicki Schimmel. Along with her cherished fur babies; Toby, Dexter, and Buddy.
She leaves on earth her loving husband, Ron Wulf of Kulm, ND; Daughter, Renae (Derrick) Ost of Fredonia, ND; Son, Dallas (Mercedes "Sadie") Wulf of Kulm, ND; her two cherished Grandchildren, Abigail Ost & Lawson Wulf; best friend and sister, Becky (Dave) Marsh of Watertown, SD; siblings, of Watertown, SD, Allan Block, Audrey Pearson, Junior (Donna) Block, Ramona (Rich) Whitlock, Roger Block, Ron (Doria) Block, Wanda (Walt) Antijunti.
