The funeral for Delmar Herr, Wishek, ND will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:30 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Delmar Herr was born July 17, 1929 to George and Margaret (Sprenger) Herr at Wishek, ND. He grew up in Wishek and attended school there. In 1950, he enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama during the Korean Conflict, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1953. After his discharge from the service Delmar returned to Wishek and worked at various jobs until his employment at Farmers Union Elevator where he worked until his retirement in 1991. Delmar was united in marriage to Ramona Vossler on April 21, 1951. Delmar enjoyed the outdoors. He and Ramona spent the summer at the lake each year; moving back to town only when the weather forced them to. Delmar was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger years he also enjoyed snowmobiling and horseback riding. He was a sports fan, especially when his grand kids were playing. In his later years woodworking became his hobby, he spent many hours in his shop crafting beautiful things of wood.

Delmar died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital at Bismarck, ND. He was 85 years old.

Delmar is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ramona, Wishek, ND; his son Kevin (Kathy) Herr, Barnesville, MN and his daughter, Cindy (Clyde) Kramer, Wishek, ND; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
