Magdalena Schulz daughter of Frank and Ann (Zahn) Jacobs was born on February 28, 1940, in Edgeley, ND.  She was born and raised in Edgeley.  Delaine married LaValle Schulz on June 28, 1959, in Kintyre, ND.  The two began their life in Braddock and raised their six children in Kintyre, Hazelton and Wishek, ND.  They moved to Wishek in 1981. Delaine worked at the Wishek Living Center for 35 years.  Delaine was a caring soul who loved to care for others all throughout her life whether that was caring for her own children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. She would also take care of many nieces and nephews.  Delaine loved to collect knick-knacks and had a special "rooster" collection.

Delaine died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Wishek Living Center with her family at her side.  She was 83 years old. She resided there as a resident since March 2015.  In her own mind, she liked to pretend she still worked while a resident there whether that was washing tables or helping in the laundry department.  During her last few years of life, we tried to make the most of our memories with our beloved mother and grandmother who we were slowly losing to Dementia.  Some of these favorite memories that we were able to share with her include signing her favorite songs of "You Are My Sunshine" and "You and Me Together" and "Doot DoDo Doot Doot Doot Doot"

Delaine is survived by her six children; son Rick Schulz, Wishek, ND; daughter Brinda Kleppen (Dale) Watford City, ND; daughter Deb (Dean) Tucker Watford City; daughter Sheila (Dwight) Goebel Wishek, ND; son Darcey (Patricia) Schulz Fergus Falls, MN; daughter Stacey Buchholz (special friend Chad Stoll) Kulm ND; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken (Cari) Jacobs, West Fargo; Jeff (Rhonda) Jacobs, Maricopa, AZ, and sister Sherry Schiermeister, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaValle Schulz, parents Frank and Ann Jacobs, sister Ruth Maker, Bonnie Jacobs, brothers Larry Jacobs, Charles Jacobs, Ralph Jacobs.

On behalf of the Schulz Family, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all staff of the Wishek Living Center for your compassionate care to our beloved loved one.  We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for your dedicated care and genuine concerns throughout all the years. Until she sees us all again….. Doot DoDo Doot Doot Doot Doot
