David LeRoy Robinson, 84, of Kulm, ND, passed away on March 25, 2024 at home surrounded by family and in the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. David's wishes were to be cremated with a small family service with military honors at Fargo National Veterans Cemetery.
David was born August 8, 1939 to Stella and Squire Robinson in St. Paul, Minnesota. David joined the Navy on December 17, 1957 and he was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Bonnie Jean Pepple on July 3, 1967 and they made their home in Circle Pines, Minnesota. They moved to Kulm, North Dakota in 1977 to raise their family. He was a hard-working man and wore many hats. He was chief of Police for over 30 years in Kulm, drove school bus for Kulm Public school, worked for the Kulm lumber yard, helped many local farmers and owned his own machine shop. He loved traveling on his motorcycle with Bonnie, tinkering with everything to fix or make gadgets for the house, and spending time with family.
David is survived by his brother, Gene (Carol) Robinson; wife, Bonnie, Kulm, ND; four children, Scott (Rose) Swanson, Utica, SD, Kelly (Chad) Dougherty, Kindred, ND, Kathy (Keith) Haag, Fredonia, ND, and Kerry (Jason) Hauff, Hunter, ND; 12 grandchildren, Tawni Swanson, Josh Swanson, Severin Swanson, Jamie Dougherty, Gage Dougherty, Bailey Dougherty, Megan Haag Prause, Jake Haag, Felicity Hauff, Eric Haag, McKenzie Haag, and Tristan Hauff; as well as 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
